Interim service
An interim service is a shorter check, typically recommended around every six months or 6,000 miles for higher-mileage drivers. It generally covers an oil and filter change along with core safety checks, and is designed to sit between full services rather than replace them.
Full service
A full service is more thorough, usually carried out annually or around every 12,000 miles. As well as covering everything in an interim service, it includes a wider range of checks across the vehicle, such as brakes, suspension, steering and additional filters.
Major service
A major service goes further still, often including items like spark plugs, brake fluid and additional components that don't need replacing every year. These are usually recommended at specific mileage or age intervals rather than annually.
