Newer, powerful cars and careful diagnosis
Barlaston is a quiet village where well-kept and often more recent cars are common, including diesel and higher-torque models. On those, the clutch often works alongside a dual-mass flywheel, so a problem might involve more than just the friction plate and needs sorting out carefully. Careful diagnosis matters more on a powerful, well-maintained car than a quick guess based on symptoms alone.
DB Autos is a family-run Stoke-on-Trent garage and a Bosch Approved servicing network member, working on all makes and models. We diagnose first, explain which parts are involved and agree the repair with you before any work begins. You will not find extras added without approval. We are always happy to answer questions about what we find, however technical they get.
A modern car with plenty of torque can hide clutch wear for a while and then let it show suddenly, as a slip in higher gears or a vibration you did not have before. Some of these cars use a dual-mass flywheel that wears too, so a good diagnosis separates a clutch issue from a flywheel one. Detail matters on a car you have looked after, and so does a clear explanation. We are happy to show photos of the parts on request. Barlaston is 6 miles from the garage on Salem Street.

Diesels and high-torque cars commonly use one, and it can wear independently of the clutch plate. Checking it during diagnosis avoids surprises and helps you decide what to include. It may sound technical, but we keep the explanation straightforward.
